Random Dice 2 vs Random Dice: What's New, No Gacha, Awakening & Supporters

Updated: October 28, 2026

Random Dice 2 keeps the core of the original (summon dice with SP, merge matching dice, defend your lane) but changes how you get dice, how they grow and what you play. Here's every major difference, based on the official announcements and the Asian release.

The big changes

No gacha: the Dice Tree

The headline change. Instead of opening boxes and hoping, you spend currency earned in matches to unlock the dice you want on a Dice Tree. 111%'s product manager said the goal was a game that rewards players fairly for their time and strategy. See the Dice Tree guide for every branch.

Awakening

When a die reaches 7 pips, its Awakening ability activates. Each die gets its own effect. From the Asian release, players report for example:

These come from Korean and Japanese player guides and may change before the global launch.

Supporters

Supporters are characters with an active ability on a cooldown: shattering a die for SP, downgrading a die, firing missiles, pushing monsters back or creating a damage zone. Five are known so far. See the Supporters guide.

Is Random Dice 2 really "no luck, no pay to win"?

That's the marketing message, and the no-gacha change is real. But players in Korea have pushed back on parts of it. The Korean community wiki describes the launch reception as mostly negative. The main complaints are heavy monetisation around the Dice Tree, a busy 3D interface, bugs and balance, and that summoning and merging are of course still random. Praise went to the themed dice variety and new bosses. 111% has shipped eleven updates since launch, so the global version may feel different.

Does Random Dice 1 keep running?

Yes. 111% says the original game continues alongside the sequel. No account transfer between the two has been announced.

Frequently asked questions

Does Random Dice 2 have gacha?

No. Dice are unlocked on a Dice Tree with currency earned by playing. There are still in-app purchases such as a season pass and VIP boosts.

What is Awakening in Random Dice 2?

An extra ability each die activates when it reaches 7 pips, with new skills and stats.

What are Supporters in Random Dice 2?

Helper characters with active abilities on a cooldown, unlocked on the Dice Tree. Five are known: Cheong, Rick, Echo, Dicky and Ian.

Is Random Dice 2 better than Random Dice?

It's fairer about how you get dice and has more variety, but early reviews in Asia criticised monetisation and bugs. It depends whether you prefer the original's PvP focus or the sequel's co-op focus.
